Ever since a was a little boy, I have felt very anxious and insecure.

My whole life I lived with the belief that I was inferior to other people.

I tried hard to improve myself in the hope that I would one day feel good enough.

But no matter how many books I read, how many goals I achieved, or how many friends I made, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was worth-less.

I worked hard to achieve these goals, but they only gave me a temporary and artificial sense of self-worth.

I could never shake the feeling that there was something deeply wrong with me.

I held people at arms length, never letting anyone get too close for fear that they would see the real me behind the mask.

It looked like I had the ‘perfect’ life, but I felt numb and detached; a hollow version of my true self.

I worked hard to maintain my image, but the more successful I was, the more lonely and isolated I felt.

I battled with anxiety and depression. Too ashamed to ask for help, I self-medicated with drugs and alcohol.

The more out of control I got, the more broken I felt, and the harder I worked to hide my vulnerability.

Then came the inevitable breakdown

When the recession hit in 2008, I sold everything I owned to pay my employees and keep my business running. But there was nothing I could do and within 12 months I had lost everything.

Just one year earlier I'd been flying high; running a successful business, driving sport cars, racing motorbikes, eating in fancy restaurants, drinking ludicrously expensive cocktails in swanky bars, travelling to exotic locations and hanging out with glamorous people.

Now the pieces of my life were tumbling away like dominos. My girlfriend walked out on me. My friends distanced themselves from me. I had put every last penny into my failing business. I didn't have enough money to buy food. And finally I had to give up my home.

I had never felt more exposed in all my life.

Everything that I cared about had gone. And with it every last shred of self esteem. I lost my identity. My self respect. I felt ashamed. Worthless. My broken heart was heavy and exhausted. I'd never felt more alone.

Desperate and confused, I reached out to a psychotherapist for help. He listened patiently to all the things I’d tried to make myself happy, then he said:

“You’ve been looking for external solutions to internal problems.”

In that moment I saw where I’d been going wrong my whole life! There is no such thing as an external solution to an internal problem!

I wasn't broken! I'd just been looking in the wrong direction!

I decided I was going to have to learn how to solve my inner problems. And what better way than by training to be a psychotherapist.

I enrolled on a Masters Degree and over the course of the next 4 years I had the chance to study dozens of therapies and experiment with hundreds of different theories and techniques.

When I graduated, I set up my own private practice and was able to broaden my research to cover the newest and most scientific methods.

How does it work?
To enrol on YOUniversity, simply click the button below to fill out an order form. You only have to pay for one month’s membership now. You will receive instant access to the bonus materials that you can start using right away. You will be added to the YOUniversity Campus on 1st of the following month. Live trainings happen on Wednesdays at 8pm (UK time). You can engage with the community 24/7. You can ask questions within the group, and I (and other members of the community) will respond to you there.
When does it start?
You will be added to the Facebook group on the 1st of the month following the date you enrolled. Because each month follows a specific theme, it’s not possible to join part way through. So if you enrol in June you will start your training on 1st July. What happens if I miss the enrolment deadline?

What equipment do I need?
You don’t need any special equipment to join YOUniversity. If you have a computer or smartphone that you can use to access Facebook, then you can take part in all the trainings and discussions.
When are the live trainings?
The training videos will take place in the YOUniversity Campus Facebook group every Wednesday at 8pm (UK time). For students in the US that’s 3pm EST and 12pm PST. The videos are live and last approximately 1 hour. But don’t worry if you miss them; the recordings stay within the group so you can catch up at your convenience.
How do I pay?
When you fill out the order form you will submit the card details you want to use for the monthly payments. Cards are charged at the time of enrolment and on the same date each month thereafter. So if you enrol on 1st January your card will be charged automatically on the 1st of each month for a total of 12 months.
Why is it so cheap?
I’d like as many people as possible to learn how to be happy. And I recognise that not everyone is in a position to afford expensive, long-term psychotherapy. Do I have to write essays?
If you hate writing as much as I do then you will be delighted to learn that there are no essays or assignments to submit as part of this programme. You’re an adult and I want to treat you like one. Therefore, you’re responsible for your own learning and I won’t be checking up on you. Do as much or as little as you want.
Will I need to read lots of books?
Well, that depends. Do you like reading books? If so, you’ll be happy to hear that each module comes with a recommended reading list. But what if reading isn’t your thing? Then ignore the reading list and just watch the videos. That’s fine too.
What if I can’t watch the trainings live?
I understand that not everyone can be in the same place at the same time each week. And whilst I would encourage you to watch as many of the live trainings as possible, you can also watch the recordings later at a time that suits you.
What if I get sick and fall behind?
All of the trainings will remain in the YOUniversity Campus for the full duration of the programme. So if you fall behind you’ll have plenty of time to catch up.
Do I have to commit for 12 months?
Yes, the minimum commitment is 12 months. Real, deep, lasting change takes time. It’s unrealistic to think that you can achieve a major transformation any faster.
Do I have to talk publicly about my problems?
Absolutely not. You can chose to share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. Some people will choose to watch the trainings without participating in the community or group discussions. That’s perfectly OK. But if you want to get the most out of the programme I would encourage you to open up and join in as much as you can.
What if my problems are too complicated?
